Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

PrivateScan AI is developed and maintained by Zhang Zhenhai ("we", "us", or "our"), an independent developer. If you have any questions about this policy, you may contact us at zhzhh1202@gmail.com.

2. Information We Collect

The table below summarizes what data PrivateScan AI accesses, why, and whether it leaves your device.

3. Camera & Photo Library Access

PrivateScan AI requests access to your device camera and photo library solely to let you scan and import documents. We do not access your camera or photos for any other purpose, and image data is never transmitted to any external server.

You may revoke these permissions at any time via Settings → PrivateScan AI on your iPhone or iPad.

4. Documents & Scans

All documents you scan or import are stored exclusively on your device's local storage. We have no access to your documents, and they are never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.

Deleting the app removes all locally stored documents. If you have enabled iCloud Backup in your iOS settings, documents may be included in your personal iCloud backup — this is controlled entirely by you, not by us.

5. Purchases & RevenueCat

In-app purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. To manage and verify purchases across devices, we use RevenueCat, a third-party service. RevenueCat receives anonymized purchase data sufficient to confirm entitlement status.

• No personally identifiable information is shared with RevenueCat beyond what Apple provides as part of the purchase transaction.
• RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

6. Data Retention

Documents you delete are moved to the in-app Trash and permanently removed after 30 days, or immediately upon emptying the Trash. Purchase entitlement records are retained by RevenueCat as necessary to honor your purchase. We do not maintain any server-side user accounts or document storage.

7. Children's Privacy

PrivateScan AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:

• The right to access information we hold about you
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to object to or restrict certain processing
• The right to data portability

Because nearly all data remains on your device, you exercise most of these rights directly by managing or deleting the app. For purchase-related data held by RevenueCat, contact us and we will assist with your request.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will provide a notice within the app.
